TenaCity to WindyCity Runyak July 23, 2017 TenaCity 2 WindyCity  DAY2 CLICK ON ALL PHOTOS TO ENLARGE! Four people showed up at 8:00 am at Flushing City paddle launch to runyak DAY2. They were Lonnie Rich, Paula Harris, Julie Gallagher, and myself. The 10.3 mile run was warm and humid. It did not cross my mind to cool off in the river at the end of the run until hearing Julie saying she might. That's all I needed to hear. It sounded good, she soon joined me. It felt good to get the stickiness out of our clothing.  This is what the launch looks like at Flushing City Paddle Launch. Wish all launches were at least this good. Seven more showed up for the 11 am paddle. They were Alicia Duso, her brother Marty Doyle, and her husband and daughter Jim and Kala, Kate Ferris, Linda Gamage and my wife Hope. TenaCity to WindyCity Runyak Maiden Launch July 16, 2017 TenaCity 2 WindyCity  DAY 1 Edited October 27, 2020. Above photo is map of original plan, to paddle around The Straits. That plan was changed June of the following year. To make the expedition more practical it was decoded to go across the state using the AuSable and Manistee rivers CLICK ON ALL PHOTOS TO ENLARGE!   25 Paddlers for the initial T2W launch. A successful day it appears.  8 runyakers and 1 bikeyaker was arrived at 8:00 am, left their kayaks, went to Flushing for the run (bike) back. We all were thinking we might get wet, but other than a misty sprinkle the 9.3 mile paddle was dry.
