Four people showed up at 8:00 am at Flushing City paddle launch to runyak DAY2. They were Lonnie Rich, Paula Harris, Julie Gallagher, and myself.
The 10.3 mile run was warm and humid. It did not cross my mind to cool off in the river at the end of the run until hearing Julie saying she might. That's all I needed to hear. It sounded good, she soon joined me. It felt good to get the stickiness out of our clothing.
This is what the launch looks like at Flushing City Paddle Launch. Wish all launches were at least this good.

This seemed a better turn out than I'd expected. I figured way less than half the total from DAY1's 25 paddlers, especially with the bad weather that was forecasted. The day turned out to be dryer that DAY1. Bikeyaker, Dan wished he had not baled. He now says he will try and do a solo makeup before DAY3.
I've paddle this stretch from Flushing to Montrose many times. Never have In not seen bald eagles. This day did not disappoint. We spotted more than ever seen before. Although most were immature.

Many of the 11 paddlers felt the 12.8 mile paddle was too far. Bad news. The next two segments from Montrose to Saginaw will be 13 miles and 14 miles. Time to gear up for long ones, or skip segments and meet up in Saginaw.
