 Pedestrian bridge where old US131 once was 
 Great Lakes Central RR trestle
Construction crewman in photo. I asked what was going on. He said their replacing the bridge for a new passenger line to Traverse City. To the north 3 miles there is Walton Junction where the GLC splits, one goes to TC the other to Petoskey. Walton Junction is mentioned in an Ernest Hemingway story, The Battler.

 Come noon I began looking for a place to land and have lunch. It was nearly 12:30 when I found thsi spot. It was awesome
 I threw down a picnic blanket
 And laid under it looking up at the sky and fall colors
 The riverview from my picnic spot



 Baxter Bridge, end of my 13 mile paddle.
I backed the van down the ramp and pulled Green Snake in.
